First post of the year! What's been going on? Earlier this year, I took the leap into freelance to pursue some new ventures. I stepped into the corporate world right out of school, and it quickly sucked the life right out of me. Late hours, long commutes, and little time (or energy) to work on personal projects left me with a very clear realization — did I really want my life to be like this in 3, 5, 10 years? The answer was no, no way, and no thank you. What's the point of staying on a path you know won't lead to where you want to be? After many months of going back and forth about whether it was a good or bad idea, I finally did it.
I planned it so my last day was right before I left for an amazing trip to Thailand and Cambodia. I'll leave the details for another post but it was so fun getting to travel with my good friend Ana. We had so many great laughs and interesting encounters, and the experience has just made me realize my love for travel so. much. more!
After getting back home, I got really sick. It started with a cough, then crept into my nasals, then more of that nasty cough. I was not having it. I expected to come back home from my trip, ready to dive into this new freelance life, but being sick slowed that all down. I needed to do some yoga to realign my head and my body. I started going more frequently and have introduced a couple of new variations to my practice — Bikram and Mysore. I'll let you know what I think when I gain more insight about it.
Anyways, here's a quickie little update. I hope to be back with updates soon. Til then, bye!
